Initiatives of Change Indonesia (IofC) Family Gathering

Let’s reunite! Initiatives of Change (IofC) Indonesia held Family Gathering on 12th April 2015. The program was attended by 35 participants, who come from Jakarta, Bandung, and Garut. This gathering was aimed to reunite IofC Indonesia members, publish IofC Indonesia programs, and listen for the participants’ input. Nenden Mutiara, the chairperson of IofC Family Gathering said that IofC Indonesia would organize The Centre Training of Life which was related with the goal of IofC Indonesia Golden 2020.  IofC Indonesia is planned to be the center training of life in Indonesia. This program was started by taking pictures at IofC photo booth, in which the three best pictures would be selected by the committee.

Iskandar, president of IofC Indonesia, stated that IofC Family Gathering would be a great occasion for the participants to share one another. Miftahul Huda, one of Asia Pacific Regional Gathering (APRG) member led the family group in the family gathering. During the family group session, each participant answered to inputs, namely what attracts the participants to attend IofC Family Gathering and share their life stories. Each group had quiet time, deep sharing, and quality time during the session.

Agus Mulyana, IofC Indonesia Senior advisor, raised the participants to keep their friendship, apply four absolute standards namely purity, honesty, unselfishness, love in daily life, create peace, and make people around happy.

During the gathering, IofC committee sold some products such as yoghurt, clothes, accessories, tumblers, stickers, and T-shirt for fundraising. The core team of IofC Indonesia led the world café, in which the participants were divided into some groups and gave their suggestions for IofC Indonesia. Ferry, one of the participants said that IofC Indonesia has many great programs such as Saturday Gathering, Inner Growth Companionship Program (IGCP), School Leadership Program (SLP), and Youth Camp. Therefore, IofC Indonesia team should be more active in spreading the programs to the society.

Umam, the 2nd president of IofC Indonesia, got chance to share about his personal experience, linked with IofC. He said that the moral standards help him to work professionally in his working place. While Eep, on the participants said that he changed to be better person through IofC value. Through quiet time, Eep learnt that everybody deserved to dream and reach what their dream is.

            Ratna, one of IofC Indonesia participants suggested sharing newsletter and video about IofC programs in order to inspire people through social media. In the end of the program, all the participants were encouraged to keep updating and contribute in IofC programs. Action speaks louder than words. We wish all the best for IofC Indonesia team. Change starts within ourselves. Dream, Believe, Achieve!
