How I live my life after marriage

Marriage is a big time life change and it is not just applicable for either the bride or the groom, but for both. I have had to adapt over the two years since I got married and to be more responsible for my little young man.

I would like to share some thoughts based on my married experiences.  First of all, there is always someone with me, who is there for me in all the ups and downs of life.  I have found a true best friend in my partner and now I don’t need to wait for someone to listen to me or accompany me anywhere.  In my partner, I have a full time listener, a shoulder on which I can cry and someone with whom I can share anything and everything without giving it a second thought.  Another nice thing is that, when I feel sad or annoyed with someone, I can tell my partner and feel relieved.  I also have the unique responsibility of the need to consider my partner in everything I do because she is the other half in this marriage.

Those are my responsibilities and challenges as a husband; it’s not easy to be a leader in a family.  It is fun and I’m learning a lot from it.  Another responsibility is that of being a father; I still can’t believe that I am now a father.  I have more learning to do about how to educate my son and also to be the best father to him.  I have to wake up every hour in the night, when my son is crying, switching with my wife to carry him and take care of him when he is sick.  It’s a challenging task but it’s full of fun.

In addition to my family activities, I also run a laundry business.  Here, I can learn how to manage the employees, customers and money management.  In business I am learning to express my passion for my entrepreneurship.  During all of these activities, the most important thing for me is to always have a quiet time with my wife every weekend.  This recharges my values and, by reflecting on Initiatives of Change values, it helps me to face my life and guide me through it

I do believe that each one of us has different life experiences and the important thing is how we deal with them and how we grow in every step of life.

Iskandar.
