Rumah Damai: Where Peace Is Lived, Grown, and Shared
Good morning from Rumah Damai (Peace House), the Center of IofC Indonesia. Living in this house are myself, Huda (my husband), and our son, Bintang. Besides us, there is also Rinni Meir, who moved here from Yogyakarta a few months ago to join as an IofC Full-timer.
This house is very comfortable and serene, consisting of many rooms which we have named individually: Armagh Room, Caux Palace room, Asia Plateau room, Rock View, Valley View, Ma Mi Room, Kitchen Flat, and even the Akasha Room.
We dedicate these names to all IofC citizens worldwide for all their struggles in promoting the 4 absolute moral values and Quiet Time (Inner Listening). This reminds us that IofC Indonesia today is not without the contribution of all parties who have always been present in our process, from the very first time until today.
We have rented this house for just one year, thanks to the contribution and kindness of Mrs. Barbara Lawler. However, the rent must be paid again soon in March 2026, and the landlord has increased the rent significantly by 7 million rupiah. From initially 43 million a year, we now have to pay 50 million.
Much has happened in this house: interfaith and cross-background dialogues through botram (communal dining), Reconciliation School classes, Gatherings with QT and shared Sharing, inter-team reconciliation, and even becoming a shelter for someone who did not feel safe out there.

Most importantly, with the presence of Rumah Damai, we as a team are more solid and strong. Because all strategic meetings, coordination, and consolidation happen in this house, our energy is so great that we will not stop fighting to make the changes we hope to happen.
Rumah Damai, together with 4 full-timers and 8 other volunteers, is committed to continuing our work based on our expertise so that all movements and programs run and make an impact on the wider community.
We want to further expand our reach so that this movement, which started small, can continue to spread to all corners of the country. For details, all our info can be accessed on the website www.iofc.id.org [1].
Like any other week, Rumah Damai is never empty. This time we started with a follow-up meeting to discuss strategies for organizational sustainability and human resources. The meetings are becoming more intensive. Besides meetings in the large circle, each division has homework that must be done and reported at the next meeting.
This week, the meeting results point to real actions, such as formulating training formulas for corporates, training for teachers and educators, programs for schools and parents, and even special programs for women and men.
With the strength we have now, we feel capable of intervening with goodness in all social segments in Indonesia. Thus, Rumah Damai becomes very important as the foundation of all movements we want to launch. Now, we want to invite all of you to be part of Rumah Damai and we will gratefully receive any kinds of contribution.
Today, at Rumah Damai, we will hold a welcome reception for 4 women from Australia to undergo the CoPEx (Creators of Peace Exchanges) Indonesia and Australia program. Anisa Ladhuny, who since this week has committed to becoming the CoP Indonesia Coordinator, is very enthusiastic to hold Circle of Peace in Bandung and Yogyakarta with her new team.
Our social media is also becoming more active and efficient and we post content more frequently. For all global IofC citizens who are also on social media, let's connect there and support each other so we can spread alternative narratives for a better world.
We have also started the Reconciliation School (SR) class with an online inauguration via Zoom. Everything went very well and all students are very excited to continue classes after a 1.5-month holiday.
Among them, there are those who have studied at SR for a year, 2 years, 5 years, and even 8 years and continue to process until today. This time, SR wants to be more professional in its management, both in curriculum and administration, so that its impact is even better.
In addition to direct meetings at Rumah Damai, we also continue to hold meetings online, once a month, with the teams managing The Trust Building Programme, Reconciliation School and Creators of Peace, plus IofC Indonesia and IofC Philippines, EQ Taiwan, and AKASHA.
May all these efforts not be in vain so that hope after hope becomes reality. We continue to pray for the safety of the nation and the world.
We express many thanks for all the support to IofC Indonesia all this time and if there is anything we can help other IofC teams with, we are ready and open.
One more thing, this is a surprise for us all, that this year IofC Indonesia will host the Caux Scholars 2026! Thank you, Rohit, for this great opportunity.
